How old are you?
I'm 16 years old.
What is your occupation?
I am currently a high school student in grade 11. I hope to study Nursing, Business or Design in post-secondary education.
How long have you been on YouTube?
2 years; I started my channel in July 2014.
Why did you start a blog?
I wanted a space to express my feelings and connect with people who are passionate about reading and writing. So, September 2015, I started this blog. This blog is also a place for me to document memories in words, rather than having to film a 20 minute video explaining myself. It's a chance for my viewers to get to know ME. Sure, you'll still get to know me through my videos, but I think every YouTuber has this wall built in between, even when they think they're being as open as possible. This blog is a collection of personal stories and memories to last a lifetime.
Advice on starting a YouTube channel or blog?
I don't want to sound cliché, but be true to yourself. It's so important not to put up an act online as if you're "perfect". People will appreciate authenticity. In terms of filming equipment, there is no need to splurge on a DSLR or boxed lighting right away. A small point and shoot camera and natural lighting will suffice. Also, if you do decide to start a channel, make sure you're creating one for the right reasons. If your intention is to be famous, maybe being a YouTuber is not for you. But, if you're passionate about sharing content that you hope will inspire others, join the community!

What camera/lens do you use to film?
I shoot with the Canon EOS Rebel T5i. My lens kit consists of the standard 18-55mm kit lens, Canon 75-300mm lens, & Canon 50mm 1.8 lens. (I used the Canon Vixia HF R500 for my earlier videos) I am currently saving up for an 85mm 1.8 or Sigma 30mm 1.4 lens. My next upgrade (hopefully) is the Canon 6D or 5D Mark IV (for photography) and the Canon 70D or 1DX (for video)!
What editor do you use to edit your videos?
I now edit my videos with iMovie, but prior to my 16th birthday, I edited my videos on Windows Live Movie Maker.
What software do you use to edit your photographs?
I edit my pictures on Photoshop and Lightroom (for colour grading). I edit most of my instagrams on VSCO.
